At the 2015 NAMM Winter Show, we asked George to make us this special little Lowden Guitars S35 Fan Fret: and here it is! This was the world's first S-size Fan Fret made by George Lowden, in AAAA East Indian Rosewood with a Redwood top, and it is available again for sale as the owner is upgrading to a custom Lowden 50 model.
Professional set-up by Paul Iverson.
This guitar has opened up incredibly over the past few years! The video demo is from when it was new.
The Lowden S body is a small-body guitar, about the size of a 00. It is arguably the loudest Lowden, noted for its clarity and definition with a very focused projection.
Fan Fret guitar offers greater bass response while maintaining the clarity of the trebles - and are much more ergonomic, too. The Fan Fret really shines in dropped tunings!
Don't be intimidated by the Fan Frets - there's virtually no adjustment required to playing one, and the benefits are huge!
