This 2011 'Tela SB Guitar is in great condition and exemplifies the progressive approach taken by Ari Lehtela in both his playing and guitar building. Body of the instrument is constructed from a single piece of swamp ash, with a mahogany neck, and is equipped with a Seymour Duncan P90 pick-up in the neck position and a transducer bridge pick-up (RMC Hybrid Pro "G"): stereo output with tone and volume controls for each pick-up. Unlike a traditional Tele, it is a set neck (not a bolt-on) with an ebony fretboard and nut, along with locking Sperzel tuners. Weighing in at only 7lbs 2oz it is an extremely versatile guitar and definitely built for speed. Comes with a "Roadie" flight case.
Originally from Finland, Ari Lehtela has been involved in music in North America for over three decades. Playing music professionally in Canada and the U.S. throughout the 1970s and 80s Ari eventually turned his attention to building guitars. Around 1990, Ari began to toy with the idea of designing and building his own guitar. This idea was solidified after meeting a local Charlotte (NC) builder, Luke Lukuer. Impressed by the sound and playability of Luke's instruments, Ari realized that handmade was the only way to go. Another interest that continues to hold Ari's attention is fine art and design — Ari holds a degree in fine art.
Nut Width: 1 11/16"
