SOLD - Lowden Guitars S35 in Figured Ancient Cuban Mahogany
Sold to Kenny Pore!
This new Lowden Guitars S35 has absolutely stunning figured AAAA Ancient Cuban Mahogany back and sides, paired with an Adirondack top.
Cuban Mahogany is regarded as the very best Mahogany available - and George Lowden was very fortunate to be able to find a small stash of boards imported into the UK about 100 years ago! The boards were so old that one side was often almost black before being cleaned up. Tonally, Cuban Mahogany gives a lot of projection and clarity, and is more dense and harder than other types of Mahogany. Adirondack Spruce seems to have a little more clarity than Sitka, combined with a certain depth of tone which is hard to describe in words: you can really dig in to Adirondack!
The Lowden S body is a small-body guitar, about the size of a 00. It is arguably the loudest Lowden, noted for its clarity and definition with a very focused projection.
